Apply Now for America’s Safest Companies 2026: Set the Standard for Workplace Safety Excellence

For more than 20 years, the America’s Safest Companies competition has sought to identify those characteristics that differentiate good safety programs from great ones, and to then celebrate the best practices and procedures that exemplify safety excellence.

To be considered one of America's Safest Companies, organizations must be headquartered in the United States and must demonstrate:

  • Support from leadership and management for EHS efforts
  • Employee involvement in the EHS process
  • Innovative solutions to safety challenges
  • Injury and illness rates lower than the average for their industries
  • Comprehensive training programs
  • Evidence that prevention of incidents is the cornerstone of the safety process
  • Good communication about the value of safety
  • A way to substantiate the benefits of the safety process

Winners of America's Safest Companies are featured in the Fall issue of EHS Today, on the EHSToday.com website, and in various EHS Today newsletters. You can learn more about the competition and read profiles of previous winners at this link.

Submitted applications must be for the entire company/organization, not just one single location or division that operates as part of the company. The company’s corporate headquarters must be based in the United States. Previous winners must wait five years before reapplying.

The application process is open until June 1, 2026.
